Lot 1106
1866 Silver Three Cents. PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. Lovely rainbow toning. 725 proof coins minted. The surfaces are judged by us to be bright and glorious in their array of colors, and quite lustrous, with the grade acting on behalf of its outstanding multicolor aspect to propel it to the front ranks. Judging by the photographs, no one can deny that this piece was fully struck in all the key spots with pinpoint detailing on the star, shield outline and stripes, and the ridges of the star points themselves, among other areas, thus providing convincing crisp detail throughout. A desirable coin that will have collectors wanting to own it for decades to come. Pop 8; 1 finer in 67. (PCGS # 83716) .
